Dunfemline played away at Perth to Abdie curling club although a fun day was had by all, no Medal will be claimed on this occasion, both rinks lost !

Rink Championship
One rink skipped by G Barr qualified for finals at Forfar but did not manage to get out their group.
District Medal
Dunfermline narrowly defeated Evenie Water (Forfar) by 1 shot in the district medal in Perth. Medal being sought from RCCC??
Well done to the 2 rinks involved – D Thomson (Skip), Derek Laird, R Park, A Barr – and J Barr (Skip), S Rennie, A Noble, Scott Barr.

Double Rink KO Competition
As the result of lack of competitor entries this competition was cancelled!! Last year was its inauguration!!
Rink Championship
Unfortunately, both rinks entered lost their respective games against Kinross and Forret. ‘No names no pack drill’. You know who you are!
District Medal
A double rink match against Dundee University took place at Kinross on 17 March. Dunfermline rinks were Skipped by J Barr and Drew Thomson.
SEASON 2016/17
RCCC Double Rink KO Competition
The Scottish Double Rink Championship was held on the 2nd to 4th December at Stranraer Ice Rink, the championship is open to RCCC affiliated clubs, each represented by two teams. After several late withdrawals, six teams competed, this meant that the competition could be run as a full round robin and a final. In the first session, there was fairly high scoring as the teams settled in after their journeys. The quality of curling throughout was high competition intense. After eight sessions, with one game still to play, four teams were still hopeful of a place in the final. After Suttieside and Duns took a win each the finalists were confirmed as Dunfermline and Suttieside. In the final, after an evenly matched start, Dunfermline gradually gained the advantage in both games to emerge as winners.

Rink Championship
R Stevenson qualified out of Kinross but, as he had used all his players, he had to withdraw from the finals in Forfar.
District Medal
A double rink match against the infamous Musketeers club. Dunfermline rinks were Skip Robbie Stevenson, Third Dougie Templeton ,Second Jim Barr and lead Stuart Rennie Skip David Thomson, Third Derek Laird , Second Alastair Noble and Lead Albert Rae No Score cards are available because The Musketeers needed them to claim their District Medal! Needless to say, Dunfermline came second in both games. Both games were very competitive and enjoyed very much by both clubs as was the social side afterwards. Thanks to Donald for the Roll Royce Bacon rolls (Rolls Royce as in price!!!)

Indoor Grand Match 24 October
Hamilton Report
The team that went to Hamilton was Skip J Barr, Third A Noble (President), Second S Rennie and
B Mayne. All had a thoroughly enjoyable game with Coulter 1 from Biggar and managed a win of 6 – 2 for the North.
Stranraer Report
The Vice President, Robin Park and his Rink comprised Ian Simpson, Andy Stevenson and Albert Rae. As the game was to be played at the Saturday early session time of 10.00 am, it was considered necessary to depart Kinross ice rink at 3.00 pm on Friday directly after a Donald Whyte Trophy game.
Consequently, with the Vice President driving, the Rink arrived at the North West Castle hotel in Stranraer in good time to enjoy an evening meal and relax over a few drinks. The opportunity was also taken to meet up with some equally early contestants, in particular Bob Smith from Inverkeithing Club who was responsible for the organisation of the Indoor Grand Match.
Following a photograph session on Saturday, the competing Rinks were finally piped onto the ice and Dunfermline Club badges were presented to the Craigielands Club opposition. The long journey and late bed time on Friday obviously had their effect on the Dunfermline Rink, who, struggling with the speed of the ice, found themselves three down after two ends before a six at end four saw them take the lead before stacking brooms.
Craigielands took the fifth end, but Dunfermline regained their impetus and the Rinks left the ice with Dunfermline the victors by 10 shots to 5. A short break in the bar to enjoy the hospitality of the hotel was followed by a traditional meal of soup and steak pie.
Formalities complete, the Rink settled down to the rest of the afternoon as spectators. A break to the hotel games room, led to a lively snooker pairs competition between the top and bottom halves of the Rink, much to the enjoyment of Bob Smith who spectated.
The evening entertainment continued with a disco session in the hotel’s Alpine lounge. Karaoke microphones being offered, the company were treated to a magnificent rendering of “Hail, Caledonia” by Tom Clarke from Inverkeithing, ably supported by our Vice President, who manfully mimed along through his malfunctioning microphone!
Finally to bed, and an uneventful homeward journey on Sunday morning.
Rink Championship
David Thomson qualified out of Kinross for the Knock out stages at Forfar week end 4 – 6 March. The Club decided to select a young rink to represent the Club in the finals at Forfar Ice Rink. In the round robin, Dunfermline won 4 of their 5 games to qualify for the quarter finals thereby progressing to the final! In the final they played against the Scottish International rink of David Edwards from Curl Aberdeen and it was no disgrace to lose by 8 shots to 5. This fantastic performance by the youth in the Club ensures the Club can look forward to a very healthy future. The rink members were Craig Barr lead, Drew Thomson second, Fraser Thomson third and skip Grant Barr.

District Medal
2 rinks entered this competition and were drawn against Nairn CC at Kinross on 20 November the date of our Supper. This was by design as 9 Nairn members attended our supper and the least said about this the better!
As far as the curling was concerned we won the match by 15 shots to 11 shots. The rinks were???
SEASON 2014/15
Rink Championship not entered this year – handover confusion –two rinks will be entered for next season’s event.
District Medal
On a cold Saturday in January, two Dunfermline teams visited Borders Ice Rink to play the annual District Medal tie, this year against Kelso CC. It was a day that experience over youth counted, as the Seniors (A Bowie (skip), K Young, I Simpson & W Scott) won their tie, but the Youths (H Geyer (Skip), S Young, C Low & A Noble), collapsed to defeat. The confusion then rained, as albeit Kelso won on points, Messer Simpson advised that if the match is tied it is decided on ends, giving Dunfermline the narrowest of victories, 8 ends to 7. If the teams had bothered to take the score cards home, the true result could have been relayed to the club, but alas this did not happen. We will also loose out on receiving our Medal as the cards require to be sent to RCCC to claim medal!!
