Season 2019/20
Inter Province League
Our rink, again skipped by Grant Barr??, peeled their game against Fossoway 7 shots all. The league was won by Cupar (100% wins 3 games played) with West Fife ending last with only one point gained by Grant. All other 5 West Fife teams lost!
Fife & Kinross Vs Perth
This was played at Kinross on 24 October and in Perth on 31 October. The Dunfermline rink of M Silvera, A Barr, Scott Barr and S Young beat Abdie 8 shots to 5 at Perth. Overall Perth won by 134 shots to 124 with the Silver Kettle going to the highest up rink of Dunning. Boreland was the highest up Club in the losing side.
Inter Province Bonspiel
Dunfermline was not represented this season. West Fife did win the bonspiel. Highest up rink was Aberdour Ladies and Ladies rink in winning province was again Aberdour.
George Sinclair Trophy
Dunfermline played in this competition on 9 January at Kirkcaldy. The Club rink of J Stevenson, Derek Laird, J Craig and C Gove won 11 shots to3 against Thornton. Strathkinness were again the ultimate winners of the competition.
North Fife Vs South Fife
Played at Kirkcaldy on 6 February. The Club was represented by Grant Barr (Skip), R Park, G Rae and J McLean who won 11- 3 against Kennoway. However, the North beat the South again this season overall by 33 to 31 shots. Very tight but Hercules was again the highest up rink with +10 shots.
Season 2018/19
Fife & Kinross Vs Perth
This was played in October in Kinross and in November in Perth. The Dunfermline rink was skipped by Derek Laird, R Park, A Rae and C Gove won their match against Glendoick 9 shots to 5 and contributed to a Fife & Kinross win overall. The highest up rink on the winning side was Boreland.
Inter Province Bonspiel
This was played in Perth on 11 November. Unfortunately, the Dunfermline rink, skipped by D Templeton lost by 2 shots (7-5) to Hercules of East Fife Province. Cupar won overall being 4 shots up. West Fife came last!
George Sinclair Trophy
Dunfermline played in this competition on 17 January at Kirkcaldy. Unfortunately, the Club rink, skipped by S Rennie, lost by 11 shots (14-3) to Strathkinness the ultimate winners of the competition.
North Fife Vs South Fife
Played at Kirkcaldy on 7th February. The Club was represented by Jim Barr (Skip), Stuart Rennie, Alistair Noble & Albert Rae who won 7- 6 against Markinch . However, the North beat the South overall by 43 to 35 shots. Hercules was the highest up rink with +10 shots.
Season 2017/18
Inter Province Bonspiel
West Fife ended winning 25 shots up. Teams involved were Bank of Scotland, Dunfermline and Dunfermline Ladies. Dunfermline beat Balcaskie 7 – 1, beat Leuchars 6-2 but lost 7-5 against Bishopshire. Dunfermline rink was J Barr, W Scott, K Young and A Rae.
Fife & Kinross Vs Perth
Dunfermline rink of A Barr, I Simpson, A Rae and Scott Barr won their game against Abdie by 12 shots to 2. This contributed towards an unusual win for Fife & Kinross by 129 shots to 105. Highest up rink on winning side was Kennoway (+17).
George Sinclair Memorial Trophy
This competition played in January was won by Largo. Dunfermline’s rink of Alex Bowie (skip) K Kilgour, J McLean and C Gove lost to Kennoway by 7 shots to 3.
North Fife v South Fife
The North, as usual triumphed in this season’s North v South Competition but only by 1 shot this year. A Dunfermline rink of K Young (skip), A Noble, A Rae and A Bowie played on 15 February beating a rink from Forret by 16 shots to 9. The North won by 63 shots to 64.
Season 2016/17
Inter Province Bonspiel
West Fife ended winning 25 shots up. Teams involved were Bank of Scotland, Dunfermline and Dunfermline Ladies. Dunfermline beat Balcaskie 7 – 1, beat Leuchars 6-2 but lost 7-5 against Bishopshire.
Fife & Kinross Vs Perth
Dunfermline, skipped by Ken Young won their game against Airleywight by 8 shots to 7. Perthshire won by 149 shots to F & K 147.
George Sinclair Memorial Trophy
This competition played in January was won by Boreland + 17 shots. Dunfermline’s rink skipped by Dave Thomson defeated Aberdour by 13 shots to 1.
North Fife v South Fife
The North again triumphed in this season’s North v South Competition played only one session at Kirkcaldy on 9 February. The second session, in which Dunfermline should have played, was cancelled because KIR refused to make curling ice for only 2 sheets! This competition is becoming a joke. The North won by 42 shots to 17.
Season 2015/16
Inter Province League
This was won by East Province with 100% and West Fife coming last! The Club rink involved drew with Falkland 5 shots all. The rink was skipped by A Hempseed.
Inter Province Bonspiel
We were not involved but West Fife ended winning 26 shots up. Teams involved were Boreland, Bank of Scotland and Raith & Abbotshall Ladies.
Fife & Kinross Vs Perth
The game we were supposed to play in at Kinross on 29 October was cancelled! This left a rink skipped by C Low to play at Perth on 5 November. Dunfermline lost 17 shots to 11 against Muthill. Perthshire won by 175 shots to West Fife’s 152.
George Sinclair Memorial Trophy
This competition played in January was won by Raith & Abbotshall Ladies being + 13 shots. Dunfermline’s rink skipped by I McDonald, D Laird, D Scott and B Faichney lost 6 shots to 4 to Balkaskie.
North Fife v South Fife
The North triumphed in this season’s North v South Competition played over two sessions at Kirkcaldy on 11 February. The South actually won more of the matches – 4 to the North’s 3, with one match peeled – but two big wins for sister East of Fife clubs – Hercules and Hercules Ladies – made the difference. Dunfermline won their game against Dunfermline Ladies representing the North by 7 shits to 6, how bizarre, and was represented by A Noble (Skip), ?????????
Season 2014/15
Inter Province League
This was won by Cupar Province and West Fife coming second! The Club rink involved beat Thornton 6 shots to 3. The rink was A Hempseed, S Young, K Kilgour and J Craig????
Inter Province Bonspiel
We were not involved but West Fife ended up bottom -18 shots!!
Fife & Kinross Vs Perth
This was won by Perth by 160 shots to 149 shots. Martin Silvera’s rink of R Park, A Stevenson and D Souter drew 8 shots all with Delvine and our other rink of Ken Young, A Bowie, D Scott and J Craig ????beat Perth Teachers by 14 shots to 2.
George Sinclair Memorial Trophy
This competition played in January was won by Bank of Scotland being + 9 shots. Dunfermline’s rink skipped by R B Stevenson lost 9 shots to 6 to Glenrothes.
North Fife v South Fife
This was won by North Fife again by 55 shots to 53. Highest up rink on losing side was Markinch. Dunfermline won their game against Hercules and was represented by A Bowie, W Scott, A Noble and J Geyer?????
Season 2013/14
Inter Province League
West of Fife Province won the Inter Province League by winning 72.5% of their games.Inverkeithing CC will receive the trophy on behalf of the West of Fife Province by being highest up at +9 following their 13-4 win against Markinch. Our club was represented by Richie Knox, Ian Simpson, Steven Young and Albert Rae (as in book!)
Fife & Kinross Vs Perth
Fife & Kinross beat Perth by 146 shots to 109 shots. Highest up rink on winning side was Falkland +12. Our club was represented by Dougie Templeton, Alex Bowie, Allan Hempseed and Ian Borland??
George Sinclair Memorial Trophy
This was won by Dunfermline (+12) with Boreland and R & A Ladies joint runners up on +10. Congratulations to the published rink of Jim Stevenson, Ken Young, Ian McDonald and Ken Kilgour?? Trophy and wine will be presented at Area7 AGM.
North Fife v South Fife
Success to the South for a second consecutive year in that they managed overall to beat the North by 136 to 74. Highest up club was ourselves +20 and the highest up rink on winning side was us AGAIN (Robert Stevenson, Willie Scott, Jimmy Lindsay and Jimmy Low?? Well supported by second rink of Martin Silvera, Alastair Noble, Stuart Rennie and Brian Mayne??) Prizes will be presented at Area AGM.
