Strathcona Cup 2023
Curling Canada has extended an invitation for sixty (60) male curlers to tour Canada as their guests for approximately three weeks in January 2023.
Those selected will compete in the Strathcona Cup, one of the oldest international curling competitions in the world. They will travel the length and breadth of Canada in three tours known simply as The East Tour, The West Tour and The Central Tour.
All paid up male members of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club are eligible to apply for a place on this tour.
We recommend you budget around £8k for this Tour, which includes such things as international and domestic travel, accommodation, team kit etc.

Well respected member Alec Bowie sadly passed away on 20th Jun 2021. He will be dearly missed by all.

We heard the news on 20th October 2020 that Honorary member Albert Rae had suddenly died. A large number of past and present members and friends from neighbouring clubs raised a broom for Albert at Dunfermline crematorium.

Our honorary member Allan Hempseed sadly passed away peacefully on 29 June 2017. He was a member of a rink which won the RCCC Seniors competition back in 1991. The rink included George Hardie, Donald Whyte, both past presidents of the Royal Club and a current member of our Club. Dave Young skipped the rink. This was the first ‘Scottish Title’ for our historic Club. Back in the day this was a major achievement.
Sad news
Ian Borland, our Club Treasurer and incumbent President of West of Fife Province passed away on 29 November 2015. Ian was a very valued member of the Club, a character and will be sorely missed. He was a member of the successful Strathcona Cup Tour to Canada in 2013 and was also involved in a Rotary Tour to Canada. He was a character on and off the ice, and for many will be remembered for his rendition at Burns Suppers of Tam o Shanter and his performances of the ‘Wee cock sparrow’ – not many of us have gone viral on YouTube!!
