Russell Medal 23/24

Largs Thistle and Auchenames play annually for the Russell Medal.

In past years, two teams from each club have taken part in the event, with the aggregate score determining which club wins the event.

With both clubs experiencing declining numbers, last season’s match (22/23) and this season’s (23/24) saw only one team from each club competing.

On 26th February, 2024, the Interclub rematch between Largs Thistle and Auchenames for the Russell Medal was played at Harvies.

The Largs Thistle team was skipped by Henry Kerr with Ron Copeland, John Thomson and Rita Salton and was won 6 – 5 by Largs in a closely fought match.
