{"id":32,"date":"2014-08-29T15:05:16","date_gmt":"2014-08-29T15:05:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/network.royalcaledoniancurlingclub.org\/area-7\/?p=32"},"modified":"2026-02-06T16:27:46","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T16:27:46","slug":"random-curling-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/network.royalcaledoniancurlingclub.org\/area-7\/2014\/08\/29\/random-curling-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the website of Area 10 (Fife &amp; Kinross)\u00a0of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club. \u00a0Area 10 covers East of Fife, West of Fife, Loch Leven and Cupar Provinces. \u00a0This website will be updated throughout the season with the results from the various Area 10 competitions and other news. \u00a0Click on the competitions tab to see\u00a0the draws for the various competitions.<\/p>\n<p>The role of the Area is:<br \/>\n\u2022 To provide a two-way communication channel between Scottish Curling and grassroot curlers who play at Kirkcaldy and Kinross. The President and Vice President of the Area sit on Scottish Curling\u2019s Areas Standing Committee (ASC) whose remit includes offering advice to the Board, communicating the views of Provinces and Clubs and, reporting the views and policies of Scottish Curling to local curlers. The Areas Standing Committee works closely with the Ladies Standing Committee, including regular joint meetings.<br \/>\n\u2022 To liaise with the ice rinks at Kinross and Kirkcaldy to help improve the level of membership and involvement of curlers at the two ice facilities and, where necessary, lobby for the improvement of curling facilities (on and off ice).<br \/>\n\u2022 To run competitions between clubs within the 4 Provinces covered by the Area \u2013 Cupar, East of Fife, Loch Leven and West of Fife \u2013 and against other Areas.<br \/>\n\u2022 To organise the itinerary (matches, accommodation, meals and entertainment) for incoming men\u2019s tours during their time in Fife and Kinross. This includes collection of an annual levy \/ entertainment fee to cover the costs.
